Chris and Katie Munro lived in Queenstown, New Zealand while taking periodic trips to the USA over several years. In 2018, Chris and Katie sold off their roofing company to pursue their American dream of bringing New Zealand style meat pies to the USA. They found a place that felt closest to home and moved to Boise, Idaho.
They packed their life, their dream, and an award-winning pie baker to help bring authentic pies in the USA. After months of working on achieving the “perfect” pie, they sourced baking butter and the pie machine from New Zealand and opened the Kiwi Shake & Bake Restaurant.
The restaurant ran for two years but as fate would have it, they closed their doors to focus on the bigger dream of bringing meat pie to retail in the USA. In partnership with Janna Bell, who brings 20 years of retail marketing experience and the same passion to bring a nutritional on the go meal option to the USA, they created the retail ready brand Pie-O-Neer Pies.

The Pie-O-Neer Pies team loves the outdoor Boise lifestyle and enjoys getting out on the water or sitting with friends around the firepit. The Munro’s are passionate about Jet Sprint Racing, a sport that originated in New Zealand. Most Summertime weekends you will find them racing and hanging out with their ‘race family.'
